The beginning.
Medisort Ltd was founded on 24 March 2009 with a clear ambition: deliver a more responsive, responsible approach to healthcare waste.

28 May 2010
A permanent home.
On 28 May 2010, Medisort acquired the former Cliniserve treatment facility on Fort Road in Wick, Littlehampton, West Sussex, including its steam-sterilisation autoclave — creating a strong independent foundation for the business.
2010 onwards
Room to grow.
We installed a second autoclave in the space originally designed for it, doubling our alternative-treatment capacity to 8,000 tonnes per year.

Since 2021
A lighter footprint.
Healthcare waste disposal has significant environmental impacts, and we see sustainable waste management as part of a wider circular economy. So we’re reducing our carbon footprint across the whole operation, from hybrid electric vans that run on electricity in built-up areas to reusable Sharpak Zero sharps containers that go through NoLoss up to 100 times before they’re recycled. And we measure the difference.
